In 1996 as VP at Alan Burns,  Shakes' template became the industry sound for Modern AC .  Start-up designs included KMXB Las Vegas, KZZO Sacramento, Star Tampa, and WMXB Richmond.   Shakes designed the start-up of much admired WNOU RadioNow Indianapolis with the groundbreaking tactic of playing the #1 song at the top of every hour.  Also Shakes was on the team for the nation's first Spanish CHR KSSE Los Angeles. 

All-Christmas:  Shakes was consultant to the first large market launch of all-xmas at KESZ Phoenix.
